Rovinj has this incredible way of blending history, charm, and fun into everyday moments. While walking through the lively streets during my very first trip for the Croatia Captured project, I caught this scene that immediately brought a smile to my face — a man in a vintage suit riding a classic penny-farthing bicycle right through the heart of town.
This photo captures a lively moment near Rovinj’s harbor, where old meets new in the most colorful way. The gentleman on the old-fashioned bicycle, alongside a woman dressed in vintage attire, rides through a street filled with people, modern scooters, and the casual vibe of a seaside town. It’s little scenes like this that show how Rovinj embraces its culture while celebrating life in a playful, vibrant way.
Rovinj, one of the gems of Istria, is known for its charming old town, colorful waterfront, and Mediterranean flair. Events like these — often organized by local groups celebrating history or cycling culture — add even more flavor to the experience. It’s no wonder Rovinj keeps showing up on travelers’ must-visit lists.
